MINI REPORT
England’s B team did enough to beat the USA 2-1 in Chicago in the first match of their end of season tour. Kieran Richardson was the bright spot scoring two excellent goals on his senior debut. His first goal came after 4 minutes converting an excellent free-kick and he slotted home his second just before half-time. US had a few decent chances in the game but could not find a way past David James until the 79th minute.

AFTER MATCH COMMENTS
Kieran Richardson told Sky Sports 1: "To play for my country is a great honour and to score is great. To score in the first four minutes is unbelievable a great feeling. Before the game I was a bit nervous but I scored the first goal and went on from there."

"I felt a twinge in my hamstring and he (Eriksson) took me off. He did not want to risk anything.

Eriksson was delighted with Richardson's goalscoring debut but less pleased that several players, including Sol Campbell, suffered jarring injuries on a hard pitch he had asked to be watered.

"For a young player to score two goals was fantastic," said Eriksson, of Richardson's exploits, "and he played well too.

"We practised free-kicks a little bit yesterday and he almost did the same then. Today it was fantastic."

"The players are not used to playing on such hard pitches and the injury to Sol Campbell was because of the pitch, We'll have to wait until tomorrow morning to see if Sol is going to be ready for Tuesday"
